ICT Support Service
The core business of GVT is providing IT
excellence to schools and other educational establishments.
In particular, our ICT Support Service is designed to
ensure that issues and problems are dealt with professionally
and effectively and, where possible, avoided through
preventative management and maintenance. The aim is to
ensure that ICT systems and networks are available when required
to support learning and the minimum class time is lost through
faulty ICT equipment.
Our ICT Support Service has been developed through working with schools and
Education Authorities over a long period of time. It continues
to evolve to meet the changing requirements and expectations
of our customers as well as the changing technologies found in our
customers' environments.
Our ICT Support Service is accredited as part of the
RM
Affiliated Technician Support Service, recognising our
expertise in the RM Community Connect environment. We do,
of course, also support a wide range of environments other than
RM.
Our ICT Support Service is also used by a small
number of commercial businesses to meet their system support
requirements.
Key aspects of our ICT Support Service
- We provide a proactive fault resolution and preventative
maintenance service for ICT and interactive whiteboard
systems.
- The service is a series of regular timetabled visits by
a named technician (subject to operational requirements and
availability).
- Technician holiday and sickness cover is provided as
part of the service.
- Technicians and Engineers are trained to industry
standards and most are qualified with experience in the
Education sector. They are familiar with all the main
educational technologies and follow a programme of ongoing
training.
- Our whole service is focused on being responsive
to the needs and priorities of each school. Whatever your
needs, your dedicated Customer Services Manager can respond
quickly to meet them. Just call them or email them for a
prompt response. Your Customer Services Manager will
oversee all our services to you and ensure that they meet
your needs and are consistently of the highest quality.
- Our local teams have a range of skills and resources to
meet most needs promptly. We can usually respond quickly to
emergencies and requests for additional visits.
- Our local teams are backed up by an Engineering
department with higher level expertise and experience to
tackle even the most complicated issues.
- We support all the main technologies in use in schools –
not just equipment we supply. We will liaise with suppliers
and manufacturers to deal with warranty issues.
- We are committed to the highest standards of
quality, service and responsiveness. All our staff have
good communication skills and are easy to deal with.
- Our team can train and support school staff in the
practical use of ICT and SMART Boards in the classroom.
This will increase teachers’ knowledge and confidence and
enhance their ability to deliver the curriculum using ICT.
Your nominated technician can even be used to help teachers
deliver ICT classes to your pupils, if required.
- We proactively work with our supported schools to help
them implement BECTA’s Framework for ICT Technical Support
(FITS).
- We offer a full range of services to complement our
Support Service. They combine to meet almost every
ICT-related requirement in schools. Just contact your
